Feudal Japan Biollante Rose Form Redesign Concept Art

Here’s my take on Biollante’s Rose Form. This was another fun one to do especially since Biollante is the only plant monster in the Godzilla franchise and one of the most unique practical effects monsters in movie history. For this design, I thought she can be a great addition and would fit in the Feudal Japan Series. Her origin could be similar to Erika’s but the daughter of an Emperor dies during a battle and he gets desperate to resurrect her by having like a witch doctor using the daughter’s blood, a rose and part of Godzilla’s blood. I don’t know just my idea. I’m still against having Biollante in the Monsterverse because it doesn’t make sense and you shouldn’t change her origin as well as her design.

For Biollante’s rose form design, still staying true and faithful to the original, I just added my own twist to the design and actually designed a head in the middle of the rose itself. I also added giant leaves on the back to somewhat reassemble Godzilla’s dorsal fins. For the rose itself, I mainly referenced Roses that were native to Japan, with a Japanese Tiger Lily plant. Finally if you look closely on the body, I sculpted her vines to make it look like a female torso but it’s not actually a human body if that makes sense. It’s suppose to reassemble the emperor’s daughter/Erika’s consciousness being trapped inside of Biollante.
