Latios & Latias

Here’s my take on both Latios and Latias. This was a commission request for someone. As simple as they sculpts were, posing and making the scene was so much fun.

For the overall design it started with Latios. I’ve seen lots a beautiful fan art of portraying Latios and Latias as birds but I avoided that direction. I stayed within the original so I can keep that personality but adding a little bit of bird elements without butchering the design. Again staying within the Japanese look.

For Latias I duplicated the Latios sculpt but made the proportions a bit more feminine and made her smaller than Latios. Again there wasn’t much craziness since the notes were “original but in my style” The only difficult thing was how I wanted to pose them together.
